Kiss Me in the Dark

For my first blog I thought it would only be suiting to get the first red dirt song I've ever heard out there. Are you ready for this? ... and the winner is ... Kiss Me in the Dark by the Randy Rogers Band!

This is the fist red dirt song I've ever heard and is still one of my favorites. This song changed so many things for me. It got me interested in a whole new type of music that was current none the less, I was really beginning to think music did die. Especially with Miley Cyrus on the charts, I was seriously beginning to think people were tone deaf. This song was also introduced to me by oh let's say the cutest boy I've ever seen! No, really I'm not much for romance but this boy was the only person I had all that sappy heart fluttering what-cha-ma-call them things going on with. He introduced this song to me in his mom's purple van about 3 years ago today. Maybe it was his idea of mood music I'm not sure, but he did have some cute dance moves choreographed with the song. I remember hearing Randy's voice and falling in love with his amazing vocal chords and that silly boy dancing to "sailors sail.." After that I think I watched that music video about oh 100 times on youtube telling everyone how much I loved it, of course I was branching out to his other songs too but this one will always be my first love in the red dirt music scene.

As for the lyrics which may not be Randy Roger's most talented heart poured set, they are still an instant catchy mood setting set. You know for those night's driving around with that special someone in the dark on a dirt road somewhere maybe pulling over by some railroad tracks under the stars? Maybe?

Here's a tip for you guys out there this song will cause ovaries to twitch. Randy Rogers in general causes ovaries to twitch.

This may already be a widely known song among many of you red dirt music lovers out there, it's still a classic one. I hope maybe that just one person found a new song to add to their collection.
